Methodology

A visibility score is only useful when the experiment behind it is preserved.

AIVM-1.0 separates different questions about AI visibility instead of collapsing them into one opaque monitoring mode.

Natural

Measures spontaneous brand recall without web search or forced brand context.

Grounded

Measures current, evidence-backed answers using web search and captured sources.

Competitive

Measures relative market positioning with explicit comparative framing.

Reputation

Measures trust, risk and public-perception narratives with balanced evidence.

Purchase intent

Measures recommendation behavior in decision-oriented buying contexts.

Why modes matter

Different questions require different experiments.

A brand may be spontaneously recalled in Natural Visibility but lose when the answer is grounded in current web evidence. It may rank well in general awareness yet underperform in purchase-intent prompts. Treating all of those as one score hides the actual business problem.

Methodology is part of the evidence.

Every run persists methodology and version information. That means later trend comparisons can reject incompatible experiments instead of producing a polished but misleading chart.
